New York City
Anarchist Tickets Broadway Play Mamet Lupone Winger
The Anarchist
Two-time Tony Award®-winner Patti LuPone and three-time Oscar® nominee Debra Winger engage in a “high-stakes war of wills” (Ben Brantley, The New York Times) in the world premiere of  The Anarchist, an “intense and provocative” (USA Today) new play written and directed by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Mamet (Glengarry Glen Ross, American Buffalo).

Patti LuPone and Debra Winger play two women battling for justice: one has been put away for life, the other is committed keeping her there. The New York Times says LuPone is “a terrific dramatic actress” and the Daily News calls Winger’s performance “excellent.” As the Chicago Tribune says “Students of David Mamet won’t want to miss The Anarchist.”

Considering the Excesses of Protest (NY Times)
Radical activity from the 1960s and beyond, as well as the aftermath of Sept. 11, led David Mamet to write his new play, The Anarchist, starring Patti LuPone and Debra Winger.
